The US Department of Transportation (DOT) through the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) issued final rules late last month that laid out the requirements for health care providers to become certified Medical Examiners and issue medical certificates for commercial motor vehicle drivers. Medicare Equality – How to Get Involved

Illinois’ Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC), National Government Services (NGS), modified its Local Carrier Determination (LCD) for chiropractic services in 2015. This change was significant because it gave chiropractic physicians the ability to appropriately list secondary diagnoses (secondary only to the Medicare required subluxation diagnosis) on the claim forms. This was a significant step towards Medicare provider equality; however, we continue to be reimbursed only for spinal adjustments. Full scope inclusion in Medicare is critical for the chiropractic profession.
