Meet Paxson: Honoring a Chiropractic Pioneer

The Illinois Chiropractic Society is proud to introduce Paxson, our AI chatbot named in tribute to Dr. Minora Paxson—a true pioneer in chiropractic history.

Dr. Paxson was one of the first female chiropractors, graduating from Palmer’s Chiropractic School in 1900. She played a critical role in shaping the profession, co-founding the American School of Chiropractic and co-authoring the first chiropractic textbook, Modernized Chiropractic, in 1906. In 1904, she made history as the first licensed chiropractor in the United States and in Illinois, paving the way for generations of doctors.

By naming our AI assistant Paxson, we honor her legacy of education, advocacy, and trailblazing leadership. Just as she helped define chiropractic, our AI chatbot will serve as a guide for chiropractic physicians, patients, and advocates seeking information and support from their own community.
