The following case occurred earlier this year. It is fairly representative of the benefit of imaging in the chiropractic setting and demonstrates the service that an astute Doctor of Chiropractic can provide.
The Medical Practice Act (MPA] and Rules require everyone licensed under the MPA — DCs, MDs, and DOs — to obtain 150 hours of Continuing Medical Education [CME] for the 36 months preceding July 31 in the year of renewal. All 150 hours may be obtained in formal “Category I” hours or may be divided into two categories, 60 hours of formal education and 150 hours of informal.
A holder of a medical license must notify the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) on a printed form if the licensee changes his/her name by marriage, court order, or dissolution of marriage.
As we have indicated in the past, Medicare has changed their patient identification numbers to Medicare Beneficiary Identifiers (MBIs). Up until January 1, these numbers have been strongly suggested. However, beginning in 2020, these new MBIs are mandatory.
