We are getting some questions in regards to a specific training that is required for all employers. So I want to start this video off, with maybe adding some important clarity. What we’re going to talk about today in this required training of all of our doctors in the state because of how the language is structured, has nothing to do with your CME requirements. In other words, the required trainings that are wrapped up inside your CME are a separate requirement. What we’re going to talk about today is a requirement for all employees, and that includes doctors, those of you who are just a solo practitioner with no staff on board, it actually applies to you specifically. So anybody that is in your practice, that’s an employee of your practice, is required to go through very specific sexual harassment prevention training. And so it’s important to know that you’ve got to do this and you have to do it every single year. So, again, this isn’t CME that only happens during licensure has nothing to do with that. It’s a separate requirement that is specific to employers and must be done every year for all employees.
So we wanted to make sure you, knew this now, it’s still September, which leaves at least three more months for you to wrap everything up, and get it done by the end of the year. Now, if you’re thinking, wow, I you know, now this is another expenditure. The good news is the Illinois Department of Human Rights actually developed their own class. And so they made it pretty simple. If you want to develop one on your own, that’s fine. We didn’t develop one even for our members, because the Illinois Department of Human Rights has already done it, and it’s already available for you, and it’s easy to use. And so we’ve got a full article that kind of gives you all the down and dirty of this, if you want to know but more importantly, it gives you the link to the department human rights version of this, that you can utilize that your staff can utilize, and you can make sure that that you fulfill the requirement, obviously, but also that you have the appropriate training in your practice and in your office and for your business, for sexual harassment prevention.
So that article by the way, all of this information you can find at ilchiro.org//annualtraining, that’s ilchiro.org//annualtraining, you can catch that link down in the description both on YouTube and inside this article, whichever place that you’re taking a look at the video. So it should be right there for you and easy to access. Now, know, again, I want to make sure this is abundantly clear. This is not something that you’re it’s one and done. This is something that you’re going to have to repeat and redo every single year. And that’s okay because it’s not going to take as much time as you anticipate it’s going to be more reasonable than you expect. And it’s obviously not going to cost you additional funds because the investment has already been made by the Illinois Department of Human Rights. And so you can wrap that up pretty quickly.
Again, all employees, solo practitioners, you also, and everybody has to do that. You should print off the certificate that is at the end of the training. At that stage, put that into the employment file of each one of the employees so that if audited, you can actually show that information very quickly. Again, it’s very easy to do, very easy to comply ilchiro.org//annualtraining, and that’ll give you everything you need. We’ll catch you next week.
