What Happened to PQRS?

With Medicare’s Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) beginning in 2017, many are asking about PQRS in 2017. Although it seems clear that PQRS ends on 12/31/2016, the G-code quality reporting will continue under MIPS.
The Illinois Chiropractic Society is recommending that providers continue to report the G-codes in 2017, using the same G-codes that were used in 2016 for PQRS. Although some of our providers will be excluded from the MIPS program (100 or less Medicare patients OR $30,000 or less in Medicare allowable charges), the safe bet is to continue to bill the G-codes until you are certain you, as a provider, will be excluded under the thresholds.
