Illinois chiropractic physicians and their staff who access Medicare information through National Government Services (NGS) should be aware of an important branding change that took effect September 11, 2026. NGS is now operating as Wellpoint Federal, and the familiar NGSMedicare website and NGSConnex portal names are changing as part of that transition.
Importantly, this is a rebranding, not a change in ownership. NGS and Wellpoint Federal are part of Elevance Health, and the transition to the Wellpoint Federal name reflects a change in branding rather than a sale or acquisition. For practices accustomed to working with NGS, this distinction may help explain why familiar Medicare resources are beginning to appear under a different name.

The functionality and services available through the website and portal are not changing. However, practices should update their bookmarks and become familiar with the new names and website address. The previous NGSMedicare website address will continue to redirect users through September 11, 2027, but Wellpoint Federal is encouraging providers to update their saved links now.

Wellpoint Federal Website and Portal Updates
Effective 9/11/2026, the name of our provider website and portal, as well as our Wellpoint Federal website address have changed.
Here’s what’s changed:
- NGSMedicare is now Provider Website
- NGSConnex is now Provider Portal
- The Wellpoint Federal website has a new web address: https://provider.wellpointfederal.com/
These name changes do not affect the functionality or services available through the Provider Website or Provider Portal. You will simply see the new names referenced going forward.
New Wellpoint Federal Website Address
Our new website address is: https://provider.wellpointfederal.com/
If you use our previous website address, https://www.ngsmedicare.com, you’ll automatically be redirected to the new Wellpoint Federal landing page.
The automatic redirect will remain in place through 9/11/2027. We encourage you to make these changes to your saved links/bookmarks as soon as possible.
From the Wellpoint Federal landing page, you can choose to access the Provider Website or Provider Portal.
