The Illinois Chiropractic Society understands the current challenges for our doctors and their practices. The number of changes that have happened and are coming in the next year are simply daunting: BCBS/Orthonet, NGS taking over Medicare in Illinois, HIPAA Omnibus Rule changes, Insurance Marketplace new offerings, other Affordable Care Act implementations, EHR deadlines, license renewals, CME deadline, and sweeping changes to diagnosis codes (ICD-10). However, we will continue to make sure that our members are kept up-to-date regarding all of these coming changes.

On September 1, 2013, the Illinois Chiropractic Society launched an all-new, content-rich website – www.ilchiro.org/. Like your challenges in keeping up with all of the impending changes in health care, we are challenged with equipping our members to handle the ongoing changes. We are confident that our new feature-laden website will help us bring our members content critical to their practices.
Information
Over 1,000 articles are available for members to access around the clock. The most relevant and current information and articles are featured on the front page. However, doctors are able to search the full site by entering applicable phrases and words in the easily accessed search bar, also on the front page. The search results appear quickly and in sections including News and Information, Classifieds, Files and Links, and Documents.
Physician Search
Patients are able to use the new site to find ICS Members (only) who are close to the patients’ homes, offices, or other current locations. Members appear in order by distance based on the address patients enter into the search. Additionally, an advance search will yield results with members appearing on an interactive map.
Education
Not only do we clearly list on the event calendar the regional seminars available around the state, but we have revamped our entire online education platform. Doctors can choose the relevant course, purchase, watch and earn credits through our automatic online quiz. Once the quiz is completed and passed, doctors will be awarded CME immediately. The ICS has nearly 20 online courses on our proprietary platform and a huge number of online courses available through our affiliation with www.ceonline.com/ilcs/.
Forms and Templates
The ICS is dedicated to bringing our doctors pertinent forms and templates for their offices. From the required HIPAA privacy policy templates to informed consent forms, the number of forms for our doctors is constantly growing. We understand the complexity of multiple practice requirements, and we are striving to provide appropriate forms for improved practice management.
Continuing Education Tracking
ICS Members have access to a personalized continuing medical education tracking system. All education either held or approved by the ICS is automatically included in a printable online journal. Additionally, members can add education taken through other entities to the journal for tracking in one convenient location.
Robust Member Profile
ICS Members have access to a very robust editable profile (see Physician Search above). Through the profile management section, members are able to edit their information, add information pages, print a membership card, view event registration history, view accounting information, write blog entries, message other members, add their CVs, post position openings, connect with social media networks, join groups and much more.
All in all, the new ICS website has robust offerings to assist our doctors in their offices daily. With the sheer volume of changes occurring in the next year, we expect this value-added resource for our members will be a much-used source of support.
