A few years ago, we had one of our board members ask in one of our key planning session meetings if the ICS, the ICS staff, and our legal team could put together a kind of a checklist for all things related to compliance. We understand the burden; we see the incredible amount of complexity that surrounds all of the different pieces related to compliance. We know that there are experts in various areas, but what we found is that there was something lacking across the board in regard to compliance for everything, whether it be federal regulations combined with state regulations. And so that’s what we found as we began to dig into this checklist idea: we found this incredible complexity. You know, there was so much going on with HIPAA, with OSHA, with the Americans with Disabilities Act, with other federal statutes, with state requirements related to employment, with federal requirements related to employment. What about your state licensing and all of these other things? And we could see just how overwhelmed you were.
Of course, we value the information that we provide you as the chiropractic physicians here in Illinois, and so we wanted to find a much easier way to deliver the capability for you to be able to track and complete your compliance requirements. And so that is where Statusfi was born. Sometimes there’s a bit of a misnomer. This isn’t a third-party package that we offer to our members where you’re going to get up sold. That’s not it at all. In fact, the Illinois Chiropractic Society has hired a development team to really handle that project. That is a wholly owned project of the Illinois Chiropractic Society. In fact, so much so that we’ve now been able to work with other state associations so they can deliver the same product to their states as well and be the champion in their states. And so that’s what Statusfi is, and we don’t want that to get lost in translation. This isn’t another company that’s giving us a product. This is a product that we, as the Illinois Chiropractic Society, give to you, our physician members, and your team to use.
So what is Statusfi? It is a comprehensive list of all things related to compliance. There are about 286 different, I believe, is what the current number is, different compliance requirements that we track in there. It gives you how to get it done. It gives you more information. You can dig into each one of the different components. And then in the last 12 months, we’ve actually AI-enabled it. So what you can actually do is on a specific requirement for something that you have to complete, a new procedure, a new policy, or a form that’s required that you that you have ready for your patients, you can click one button that says, Ask Paxson, and when you click that button, Paxson will instantly give you more information about that specific requirement, and then actually tailor what your requirement is. So it’ll give you a draft policy, a draft procedure, or even, if it’s training, a draft outline, to be able to train your team on those specific requirements.
It is designed for you here in Illinois, related to both federal and state requirements. We encourage you to jump out today and familiarize yourself with it. But it’s going to be an incredible update to the software that’s going to give you even more power and more control over your compliance and help you feel a lot more solid about where you’re at.
