Weigh In on Important Legislation!
The Illinois Chiropractic Society has initiated HB 4477 in the Illinois General Assembly. The bill, sponsored by State Representative Kevin Schmidt (R-Millstadt), would prohibit discrimination by a health care plan or coverage against any health care provider who is acting within the scope of the provider’s license or certification, thereby disallowing an insurer from not covering services provided by certain health care providers (i.e. a chiropractic physician) or to reimburse at lesser rates than other health care providers. Rep. Schmidt is also a practicing chiropractic physician.
The bill has been posted for a hearing before the House Insurance Committee. You are urged to complete a witness slip declaring your support for this important legislation. Simply go to the Illinois General Assembly website and complete the information identifying yourself.
