Marc:

Thanks for joining us this week, I’ve asked Dr. Vijay Patel, the current President of the Illinois Chiropractic Society board of directors to join us this week and talk about our convention that’s coming up this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. By the way, if you want some additional information right up front, you can jump out to icsfallconvention.com. That’s icsfallconvention.com. What do you think, Dr. Patel?

Dr. Patel:

I am really excited about this convention. This is the first time we’ve had convention since 2019. So I’m very excited to meet my colleagues that I haven’t seen, essentially, almost in three years. So I’m really looking forward to that. And we have a wonderful lineup of speakers this weekend. So make sure you register as soon as you can.

Marc:

And we’ve got some great topics too in the education and and you know, we’re going to talk about the other key things, that are critical for convention and, and where the home runs are. But just so you’re aware, if you didn’t know, we’ve got a phenomenal course by Dr. Fucinari on proving medical necessity in all of your cases that you treat. Dr. Hefner is gonna be talking about the McKenzie Method on Saturday, a great course on Friday night by Dr. Erin Ducat, on improving your profit by leveraging technology and efficient procedures in your practice. You know, sometimes we don’t like to talk about the dirty word profit. But let’s be honest, it’s one of the key factors to good healthcare is that profitability angle, so we want to make sure that you check that course out on Friday night. What are some other key classes that you think are out there, Dr. Patel?

Dr. Patel:

Well, you know, I always tend to go to the NCIMC class that allows me to save some revenue on my malpractice insurance. And not to mention, it’s Dr. Bart Green up speaking. So he’s going to be covering a lot of great information as NCI… NCMIC is known for neuroplasticity, we also have Dr. Alicia Yocum, that will be lecturing this weekend, as well. So again, register as soon as you can.

Marc:

Yeah, it’s a great lineup. One of the things I like to talk about is what happens outside of those classrooms and the key factor. Dr. Patel, what do you find outside of the educational portions, at our live events and in-person conferences is a key factor for your attendance?

Dr. Patel:

You know, I think that is probably the number one factor. You know, long before I got involved on the board, I love to go to the ICS because I met with my colleagues and I got to share, I got to share information that improved my practice, improve the quality of care they gave to my patients improved my job satisfaction and running the practices, I learned a lot of things outside the classroom. So I mean, that is number one.

Marc:

I find that too in the conferences that I attend. Actually, I love going to our conference, because it’s finally an opportunity to get off the phones. And we deal a lot with our members on the phone. And we love that. But now we get to see everybody in person again. So we even enjoy that staff and the conferences that we go to. I agree completely. We bring back our key deliverables from those conversations in the hallways, and a home run the venue that we’ve got at the NIU Conference Center, there in Naperville – phenomenal. And it’s great for these types of opportunities, you know, big wide hallways and some side sitting areas for everybody to have, you know, to sit down and have those chats and our lunch is going to be a little bit different, by the way, Dr. Patel, in that we’re not just going to be wandering around the tradeshow but instead we’re gonna be able to sit down, have conversations with our colleagues have conversations with vendors as well. Talk to me about how you view the opportunity to be able to hit the exhibit hall and talk to some of the key vendors in the profession.

Dr. Patel:

You know, I have liked going to the ICS conventions, I found that the vendors are tremendously helpful we actually have, I believe we have almost a full vendor ship vendor area here. And I find that if you’re going to learn about new services, possibly new techniques, new equipment that you can incorporate into your office, that will give your patients again, better outcomes. It’ll teach you how to implement new services in your offices that again, that is only going to improve patient outcomes. So I believe that the vendors are a great resource. And not to mention, they helped to fund our conventions. So we definitely have to go and help them just like they help us.

Marc:

Yeah, we have great sponsors this year, and and strongly encourage you to check that out too. To touch on this again want to make sure everybody knows you can still register for this weekend’s conference, you can just jump out to icsfallconvention.com. Now, here’s the thing, if you’re sitting back and you’re going, I want to come there. I want to be in person, but I can’t. But to make sure that you know that we actually are recording one of the entire tracks. So 17 hours this weekend will be recorded and available live. So it’s actually a simulcast so you can jump on in the chat box you will have the ability to ask the speaker questions even though you’re not actually at NIU Conference Center at the NIU Naperville conference center, instead, you can actually be at home so you’re not able to make the event in person still attend, there’s a virtual option for you to choose. Again, you can access that at icsfallconvention.com You can join us virtually you can join us in person, of course, we want to see everybody in person. But if you’re looking at this and say I’d like to be able to ask the speaker questions, I’d like to be able to attend live, you still can virtually, from your sofa if you’d like. And we’d love to have you either way, it’s an option. And the virtual option by the way is going to be all of the recordings are going to be available for CME through the end of October, so through October 31. So there’s no reason to miss the conference this year, there’s plenty of time to take the courses you have. You know, if you can’t catch them live, you can catch some live and then make up the rest later. You can check them out, and check out the whole thing virtually later on on-demand. We just really would love to have all of you a part of our conference and check out the great lineup. Don’t miss it networking, what am I missing doc?

Dr. Patel:

Call a colleague that you know that maybe doesn’t know about it and invite them go with them. And I look forward to seeing you all there.

Marc:

We do too. At our general membership meeting, by the way, we’ve got a lot of stuff happening there. We’re going to bring you up to speed on everything that’s happening all things ICS. But also we’re going to be talking a bit about the Chiropractic Future Strategic Plan and the nd incredible plan that’s happening for the entire profession across the country, high-level leaders involved in that project and we’ll give you a Class A update at that general membership meeting. Don’t miss that either. It’s going to be fantastic. Thank you, Dr. Patel, for joining, and thanks for talking to our members about our conference and why they need to be a part of it.

Dr. Patel:

Thank you, Marc.

Marc:

We’ll see you in just a couple of days.
