OBITUARIES: Robert A. Hoagland, DC

Dr. Robert A. Hoagland, 80, of Robinson, IL, went to heaven to be with his Lord and Savior on August 19, 2021, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. He was born November 5, 1940, in Lafayette, IN, the son of Dan & Arlene (Wright) Hoagland.

Bob, along with two of his brothers, simultaneously enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served his country as an airman from 1958-1962, having spent much of his time stationed at Columbus Air Force Base in Columbus, MS. Following his honorable discharge, he enrolled himself in Lincoln Chiropractic College in Indianapolis, IN. He soon married the love of his life, Eloise, and they were united in Holy Matrimony on July 14, 1963. They would eventually move back to Robinson, where he opened Hoagland Chiropractic Clinic in 1969. It was evident that Dr. Hoagland had so much compassion for each and every patient he had the opportunity to care for. By the time he retired in 2002, the good doctor had touched the lives of countless area men and women, bringing relief and wellness to his community for over 30 years.

Away from work, Bob found great peace and fulfillment with a rod and reel in his hand. He knew where all the good fishing spots were locally and may or may not have been kicked out of a fair share of them! Though he genuinely enjoyed fishing with his buddies, spending time with his family was what brought life to his living. He was, by all accounts, a dedicated husband, a loving father, and a doting grandfather and great-grandfather. His family will never forget this noble man of character, who lived out of a deep well of joy, love, and faith. Having served in many different capacities at the First Baptist Church in Robinson, it was clear that he loved the Lord with all his heart, soul, mind, and strength. We who are left behind find both peace and assurance that on Thursday, he found himself in the arms of his Savior.

He is survived by his wife, Eloise Hoagland (Robinson, IL); their four children & their spouses, Debbie & Tracy Knight (Robinson, IL), Dr. Todd & DeAnn Hoagland (Robinson, IL), Rev. Jayson & Jennifer Hoagland (Wright City, MO), Justin & Sara Hoagland (Herculaneum, MO); their grandchildren & their spouses, Cyndi & Tyler Rehmel (Robinson, IL), Brittney & Steve Wolfe (Mt.
