By now all of you should have received your renewal notice from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, or IDFPR. That renewal is really important. You’ve got to make sure that it is complete by July 31st. We’ve already received a couple of phone calls from doctors who did not receive the email, it could be that it went to spam, or it could be that ultimately you forgot to update your email address, or who knows what happens sometimes, but it does happen. The responsibility still lies with you, and you want to make sure that you get your renewal completed by July 31st.
So, remember, when you go to renew, there are two things that you’re going to have to note. We want to make sure that you’re aware. One is, you’ve got to complete all of your CME, and the second is you have to know that there is going to be the charge this time, right? There’s not a waiver. Last time, there was this time, and it’s going to be a $543 charge for renewal when you get in there and complete the renewal. Now, when you get in, I just want to also remind you that there are five required courses now. You have sexual harassment prevention training, you have the implicit bias course, you have cultural competency, you have recognizing dementia, and then you have the recognizing and reporting child abuse training. Now, the recognizing and child abuse training ultimately, it’s a one hour that one’s done by the state. You can get that for free. The other four ICS members, you get those included. They’re free with your membership. You just jump out to our online education at Illinois cme.com I’ll drop a link down below for that, and you can get all of those required hours that you need included with your membership at no additional cost, so free.
And so we want to make sure that you get that done. You should have already received your notice. If you haven’t, it’s okay. I’m going to drop a link down below to our article that we published a few weeks ago. When the, when they hit, to make sure that you have those links, so you can go ahead and do the renewal. Just because you didn’t get a letter doesn’t mean you can’t do your renewal. You can still go ahead and get it done, and we encourage you to do exactly that. We’ll catch you next week.
