Illinois 2026 License Renewal Deadline Approaching

Illinois 2026 License Renewal Deadline Approaching

Editor’s Note: The renewal fee is $543.00 for 2026. This is due at the time of renewal.

Illinois chiropractic physicians should have received renewal notices from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) regarding physician licenses, all of which expire on July 31, 2026. If you have not yet seen the notice, be sure to check your inbox, spam folder, junk folder, and any filtered email accounts connected to your IDFPR profile.  Although most licensees will receive the email notice, the responsibility is on the licensee; you are required to renew on time, even if you have not received actual notice.

Renew Today: The renewal process is completed through the IDFPR Online Renewal portal here.

How to Renew: Click here for step-by-step instructions from the state.

Before renewing, ICS strongly encourages members to make sure all required continuing medical education (CME) has been completed and documented (See note below). ICS members have access to on-demand CME as part of membership here (www.illinoiscme.com), a summary of requirements here, and a full explanation of CME here.

Do not submit your renewal until you have completed all required CME hours, including the specific mandated courses.

IDFPR has advised licensees that renewals submitted after the expiration date will be subject to both renewal and late fees, and all fees are non-refundable.

Additional renewal access tips and login assistance are available from IDFPR here.

After You Complete Your Renewal: Make sure you print your license and hang it in your office. Here is a link to print the license.

If you experience issues accessing your account or completing the renewal process, IDFPR can be reached toll-free at 1-800-560-6420.

Important Note: Hours counted toward the 2023 renewal cannot be used to fulfill your 2026 renewal requirements. Therefore:

  1. Hours obtained on or before July 31, 2023, cannot be counted toward your 2026 renewal.
  2. If you renewed or reinstated your current license after August 31, 2023, you can count only the hours obtained AFTER your license was active again.
