1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Paxson, the Illinois Chiropractic Society’s (“ICS”) AI Chatbot (“Chatbot”), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not access or use Paxson.

2. Definitions

• “Paxson”: An AI-powered chatbot on the ICS website that simulates and processes human conversation, enabling users to interact digitally as if communicating with a real person.
• “User”: Any individual or organization utilizing Paxson to seek information or assistance.
• “Confidential Information”: Any non-public information disclosed during the use of Paxson that is proprietary or confidential to ICS or its users.
• “Malicious Code”: Harmful software such as viruses, worms, time bombs, Trojan horses, or other malicious code, files, scripts, agents, or programs.

3. Use of Paxson

• Purpose: Paxson is designed to provide general information related to chiropractic care and ICS services. The content generated is based on the data on which the ICS has trained Paxson. Paxson is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.  We strive to mitigate potential flaws, but users should be aware that information may be biased or incomplete; therefore, users should be aware of limitations and seek alternative perspectives. 
• User Conduct: Users agree to use Paxson responsibly and not to:
• Violate any applicable federal, state, local, or international laws or other applicable laws or regulations of any kind.
• Transmit any unsolicited advertising or promotional materials.
• Impersonate ICS personnel or any other individual or entity.
• Introduce Malicious Code into Paxson or ICS systems.
• Engage in any activity that disrupts or interferes with Paxson’s functionality.
• Engage in any other activity that violates this AI Chatbot Terms of Use.

4. Privacy and Data Use

• Data Collection: Paxson may collect certain information from users to provide relevant responses. This may include, but is not limited to, user interactions and provided data.
• Data Usage: ICS may use aggregated and de-identified data derived from user interactions for analytical and improvement purposes. Such data will not identify individual users.
• Confidentiality: ICS will maintain the confidentiality of user data in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

5. Intellectual Property

• Ownership: All rights, title, and interest in Paxson, including but not limited to content, features, and functionality, are owned by ICS and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
• License: ICS grants users a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use Paxson for personal or organizational purposes in line with these Terms.
• Restrictions: Users shall not:
• Copy, modify, or create derivative works of Paxson.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble Paxson.
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices from Paxson.

6. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

• Accuracy: While ICS strives to provide accurate and up-to-date information, Paxson’s responses are for general informational purposes only. ICS does not warrant the completeness or accuracy of any information provided.
• No Professional Advice: Paxson does not offer medical, legal, or other professional advice. Users should consult appropriate professionals for specific concerns.
• Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, ICS shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to the use of Paxson.

7. Modifications to Terms

ICS reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting on the ICS website. Continued use of Paxson after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
